About the Site
I work and live in Randolph Vermont as a web page designer/developer for Vermont Computing, Inc.. One of my co-workers was effected by this fire. He and his family, now one bigger (his wife was in labor when the building caught fire) have lost their home and possessions. As a gamer and a Resident Evil fan, I wondered if there was anything I could do to help out the people in my town who lost so much in this fire. That has become ResidentAid.org.
This is a fun and even silly event; a marathon gaming session lasting 2 days or more while I plow through the zombie hordes of the definitive survival horror franchise Resident Evil. However, there are real horrors that people survive, like losing a home. I'd like for my gaming to do some actual good not for the folks in the fictional Raccoon City but for genuine people in my town.
Please take some time to watch me play through this series and cheer me on on November 1st, 2nd, (and maybe beyond). Feel free to talk about how this fire or other catastrophes have effected you or those you know, or just to have some fun watching zombies become re-dead. Please donate via the Paypal link at any point and sign up for the newsletter while you're at it. I'll be following up with information about how much was collected, when it was distributed, etc... so donors can stay informed.
I'd like to collect donations during the event, but you may not be interested in watching or it may be inappropriate. The content is a little scary and violent, it's not all ages material. That's ok. You can donate at any time. Donations are also being collected in a drop box at Vermont Computing, Inc.. I encourage you to participate however you feel most comfortable.
